Verizon IndyCar Series Preview: DXC Technology 600 – Saturday, June 9, 2018 8:00PM (ET) NBCSN – Previous driver experience shows five former winners at Texas in the field in Scott Dixon (2), Will Power (2), Ed Carpenter (1), Tony Kanaan (1), and Graham Rahal (1). The active Top 5 in laps led at Texas are Power (432), Kanaan (372), Dixon (365), James Hinchcliffe (196), and Carpenter (92). Power (2017) and Rahal (2016) have won the last two races. Looking at the box scores from 2017 and 2016, Kanaan, Pagenaud, and Rahal have Top 5’s in each of the last two years. If that’s expanded to the Top 10, those three are joined only by Power. My pick to win: Will Power – Power won last year at Texas, has three career poles at the circuit, and is coming off a win at the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race in the only race ran with the current superspeedway aero kit. He has to be the favorite this weekend. Power is driving as well as he ever has coming off back-to-back wins in Indianapolis and two best in class performances for Chevy with a P7 and P2 at Belle Isle as the Honda-powered teams dominated.

My fantasy.indycar.com picks: Will Power, Alexander Rossi, Simon Pagenaud, and Tony Kanaan – You know my thoughts on Power. Rossi has been the fastest driver in the Verizon IndyCar Series this season but may have to settle for best in class if Chevy dominates the superspeedway package again. However, he showed at Indianapolis he knows how to move through the pack as well as anyone in the series and I expect him to be a contender this weekend. Pagenaud has struggled relative to expectations in 2018, but a Team Penske driver who has finished P3 and P4 at Texas over the last two years should provide solid results for just $21. Kanaan should be a great value at just $16.
